Fostering Collegiality

In the words of Brenda Sue Houmard, MD, PhD, one of your colleagues and a SCMS Board member, “I believe that it is critical to the practice of medicine that physicians within a community begin to know each other as colleagues and friends. It is in this way that we can provide the best information to our patients. I volunteer my time to help the SCMS achieve this important goal. As a side benefit, I enjoy coming to know colleagues personally, as well as professionally. The life of a physician is complex and having colleagues to relate to makes this career choice more fulfilling. As our community grows, it is critical for my colleagues to be involved in this venue that is not aligned with any other entity.”
