Rebecca R. Burson, DO

Board Certified Psychiatrist
Alpenglow Mental Wellness, PLLC

Dr. Rebecca “Beck” Burson is a board certified psychiatrist and consultant with a master’s in Organizational Leadership through Gonzaga University. She is passionate about neurons and narratives and understanding how both individuals and organizations make positive changes. She is the founder and CEO of Alpenglow Mental Wellness and Flamelight Consulting. She also served in the US Air Force as an Officer and has worked for the VA, private practice and ultimately for her own private practice which she absolutely enjoys. She has a background in research as well and received a 1.2M grant investigating biomarkers, mental illness and sleep and was a Site Principal Investigator with a Yale led study investigating the use of ketamine for treatment resistant PTSD. She remains active in caring for military members and veterans. She resides in Spokane, WA where she is happy to have returned after over two decades away. Her husband serves in the Air National Guard as a Chaplain and they have two young daughters who keep them both young and old at the same time.

Julie Kaczmark, MD, FACR

Pediatric and Emergency Radiologist, Inland Imaging
Radiology Faculty Lead, Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine

Julie Kaczmark, MD, FACR has been in private practice at Inland Imaging in Spokane, WA for 19 years as an Emergency and Pediatric Radiologist and serves as the Section Chief of Emergency Radiology. She has taught radiology residents at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center Radiology Residency throughout her career. In the last 9 years, she has taught radiology at local UW and ESFCOM Medical Schools. She serves as Radiology Faculty Lead for ESFCOM and designed the 4th year Radiology Elective that students experience throughout the state. She mentors several students from local medical schools on the pathway to radiology residency each year. When not in the reading room or teaching, Dr. Kaczmark enjoys being active, teaching yoga, hiking, kayaking and cross-country skiing. She is also an avid pianist and enjoys spending her free time playing at her church and for theatrical productions.

Trinity R. Wood, MS2

Trinity R. Wood, MS2 is a second-year medical student at Washington State University, and grew up in Okanogan, WA.

Hanna Meek, DO

Hanna Meek, DO is a PGY-II Internal Medicine Resident at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. She grew up in Kansas City and moved to Phoenix for part of medical school then moved to Spokane to complete her Residency training.

Marjorie Schoen, MD

Family Medicine Residency Spokane

Marjorie Schoen, MD is a third-year resident with Family Medicine Residency Spokane. She is passionate about health equity and designing healthcare systems that serve patients and communities well. She plans to remain in the Spokane area to be a Primary and Urgent Care physician.

Stephanie Posten, DO, FAAP

Providence Pediatrics

Stephanie Posten, DO, FAAP is a pediatrician at Providence Pediatrics in Spokane Valley, where she has been practicing for six years. Her professional passions include mental health advocacy, vaccine literacy, and supporting medical education. Dr. Posten teaches and mentors students as a part of the faculty with the University of Washington and Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys running, leading fitness classes, and spending time with her two children, ages 6 and 8.

Kristi Rice, MD

Providence Pediatrics Northpointe,
Faculty WSU Pediatric Residency

Dr. Kristi Rice graduated from residency in 1999 and returned to Spokane to practice pediatrics. She has worked in and been an owner of a private practice and later joined Providence in 2014. While practicing general pediatrics, she has taught third year UW medical students for 20+ years and taught first- and second-year UW medical school classes for 7+ years. She has joined WSU as faculty of our new Pediatric residency, spending the last two years establishing curriculum and implementing it with our first class that started July 2024.

Sherri Lynch, PhD

Assistant Dean, School of Leadership Studies
Gonzaga University

Sherri Lynch, PhD is the Assistant Dean of the School of Leadership Studies at Gonzaga University. She is the co-founder of the Women Lead program, which is a series of conferences, events, and a certificate program, with a mission to educate and empower women both personally and professionally. Sherri teaches in the Certificate in Women’s Leadership Program at Gonzaga, a program she authored, and also teaches leadership at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Sherri’s doctoral research focused on women’s leadership and the ways women build community.

Kelli Pearson, DC, DABCO, FICC

Assistant Dean, School of Leadership Studies
Gonzaga University

Kelli Pearson, DC, DABCO, FICC has been in practice for over 45 years and is passionate about finding the best way to communicate, even in the most uncomfortable circumstances. After several certifications in communication styles and during COVID-19, in the midst of notable division, she developed a curriculum in 2020 to engage in conversation with anyone anytime, regardless of the topic, IF there has been an agreement to participate.

Dr. Kelli has been a Chiropractor in a multidisciplinary practice and co-owner with her husband of Pearson and Weary Pain Relief Clinic. For the first ten years of her practice, she was on staff at Group Health Cooperative and was one of the first DCs in the country to work in that environment.

Kelley Mathia, MD

Mathia Menopause Medicine

Kelley Mathia, MD has been a practicing OB/Gyn in Spokane since 1997. She worked at Spokane OB/Gyn for 24 years before becoming a high risk obstetrical hospitalist at Sacred Heart in 2020. She is currently opening a virtual practice specializing in peri-menopause and menopause care for the women in our region. She has a passion for women’s health and recognizes the need for quality menopause care for the midlife woman. During her time as a private practitioner, she helped many patients navigate this period of life and is now coming back to care for more women seeking relief and answers to the many changes and challenges that occur during this time. She has been married for 34 years, and is a mother of three children in their 20s and two Australian Shepherds. She enjoys lots of exercise, outdoor activities, dancing, reading and traveling the world with her family and best friend.
